After completing his studies at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, James White moved to Italy and began his career.  While in Italy, White had the opportunity to teach photo at an American university program in Florence.  After teaching,  White relocated to New York to shoot fashion and it was there that he launched his career in celebrity portraiture and is now regarded as one of the hottest celebrity photographers in the world.

White’s work is inherently perfect for Hollywood, combining beauty, sexiness and incredible lighting to create images that are seductive. His photos have graced the pages of magazines all around the world including but not limited to GQ, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Entertainment Weekly, Esquire, Flaunt, Elle, Premiere and Rolling Stone. He has worked with A-list celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Charlize Theron, Jamie Foxx, Gwyneth Paltrow, Colin Farrell, Reese Witherspoon and many more. And as a result of his success in the editorial market, White photographs advertising and publicity campaigns for movie and television studios such as CBS, Disney Pictures, FX, Nickelodeon, Paramount, Sony Pictures, Universal, Warner Brothers and 20th Century Fox. His advertising clients are Baume Mercier, Bebe, Citre Shine, Estee Lauder, Got2Be, Got Milk?, Hard Rock Hotel, L’Oreal, Maybelline, Motorola, Skyy Vodka and Toyota. Musically, he has worked with Capital Records, Geffen Records, Interscope, RCA Records, Sony Music, Virgin Records and Warner Bros. Records.

White’s work has been written about internationally in American and French Photo, Picture Magazine, Black & White, Digital Photography Monthly and various other esteemed publications. In 2005, he was named by American Photo as one of the top 100 influential people in photography.
